LaDainian Tomlinson Breaks More NFL Records

LaDainian Tomlinson scored another two touchdowns and broke some more NFL records yesterday. Here is a run down of the records he broke:

31 TDs in a season – breaking the single-season record he set last week.

186 points in a season – During yesterday’s game Tomlinson broke the 46 year old scoring record of 176 total points in season. Paul Hornung set the previous record for points scored in a season with the Green Bay Packers way back in 1960. While there were less games in a season back then, Hornung was a kicker and a running back when he established his record.

28 rushing TD this season – (the most ever in a season).

8 straight multi-touchdown games – This breaks the record he shared with the famous running back John Riggins.

Lastly, he also broke a personal record… his 85 yard touchdown run was his longest run from scrimmage in an NFL game.

NBA Says Bye Bye to New Balls

The NBA has decided to nix their new balls. I kind of wondered how long it would last. There is a big difference between leather balls and synthetic ones. Good call by the NBA.

Campbell’s Click for Cans Program

Campbell’s is running their yearly Click for Cans Program. Each year, fans vote for their favorite team, and the winning team receives soup cans, based on the number of votes they received, which are donated to a local food bank. The Green Bay Packers are the undefeated Click for Cans champs, so get over there and vote your favorite team. (Oh, and this year there is a secondary contest— the team with the most improved click rate from last year will receive 2006 cans donated to their local food bank.) Click for Cans continues through December 15.
