I guess no one read my statment about “BEFORE NASH WAS ON THE PHOENIX SUNS” the “team” which consisted of ” BARBOSA, AMARE & MARION “...had 19 wins…61 loses….than after recieving STEVE NASH ” 3years ago ” the VERY next year the team had ” 61 wins & 19 loses “...SO…with the help of 1 player, the team recieved 42 more wins and not only went to the playoffs, they went to the WESTERN CONFERENCE finals…not just making the playoffs and losing in the first round…..so know I ask everyone again….do ya think the suns could do it with out steve nash on the floor ? oh yea they picked up raja bell after they had nash for 2 years already, so ya can’t bring up the point that its cause raja they started doing good…..now I REST MY CASE.

and yes kobe does have rings….

i agree with jun when it comes to comparing teams….hey, nash was with the mavs and he didnt have much spotlight when surrounded by other gaurds who can run the court, but as jun said, amare, marion, raja and the rest are built to SCORE…...now look at odom, brown, luke and the rest….only time they score well is when kobe gets triple teamed….i mean you HAVE to recall the 255-2006 season when kobe had to score 60% of the lakers total to come out with a win, ain’t no different now…..dirk just got BUMMED…..james is no more special than regular season…what’s else do you need, kobe is the lakers, no kobe, non playoffs AT ALL!!

Let’s discuss the fact…Everybody is saying KOBE is not good in assist. Everybody is saying he is just performing individually..Now, my question is, let’s say Nash is the one playing with LAKERS team, can he do the assist that he is doing with PHOENIX members. To whom Nash should pass the ball for an assist if the members can not shoot. Of course, he will do something to score..Lucky is Nash because Phoenix team has GOOD members who can be assisted..otherwise, all of his assists will go for nothing.

Now, with Kobe’s abilty to score, if he has the members of the team like what Phoenix has, for sure, without no doubt, Kobe’s team will win the championship.

So, dont forget to analyze, THE TRUE MVP award should go to none other than…KOBE BRYANT.

KOBE-ballhog…and his team didnt get past the first round.

DIRK-good, but couldnt get his team past the Warriors which is pretty sad!

Dwayne Wade-good, but missed 30 games this season…next year is his year.

Yoa-started the season off great but hasent done that great since.

LEBRON- definately deserves it. hes one of the only guys in the league that can average almost 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists a night!plus, he has a great chance to win the championship this year, all the other guys i named didnt even get past the first round!

i got to disagree with the statement someone just made….they said if the suns or the mavs didn’t have dirk or nash, they still would be good, thats a false statement. Before nash got there 3 years ago…the team was 19-61…after he gets there they make the western finals not once but twice, both times with alot more wins than 19….so i rest my case.

I gotta laugh when people say Kobe….but i guess when you watch ONLY the highlight reels on ESPN and not the actual game I can understand that. But as for Dirk, he is a great player, but like someone said earlier in this forum…he gets frustated to easily which forces him to make bad decisions, and i believe the playoffs this year was a prime example of that. Now everyone’s seen Nash win this award twice in a row, and to my knowledge his stats are no different from now and then…if not better this year. But I guess I need to watch more ESPN highlight reels to understand the kobe assumptions making him the leader in this race. But in the real world and not the REEL….nash is clearly the better player than both of the two, and anyone who disagrees with that statment should turn on ESPN again and see where Lakers and Dallas are at and take a quick glance at where the suns are at. And I don’t wanna hear kboe has no one on his team, cause if thats the case why he lost…....then what is Dallas’s excuse ?

Dirk is choking in the playoffs. Lucky for him, the playoffs don’t count towards the mvp race. Nash, on the other hand continues to lead the suns to another successfull season and playoffs. I would agree that dirk would be the MVP for the GS Warriors, since he hasn’t done a thing against thim. Hopefully they get knocked early so all the idiots who follow the mavs might realize THEY SUCK….

Im not saying this because i’m a cavs fan,but lebron james is the most valuable player. Most Valuable Player means if that team didnt have that player, they would suck. Now don’t get me wrong, Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash are great players,but the Mavs and Suns wouldn’t be horrible without them. The Cavs were 17-63 before they drafted lebron, the next year the cavs were 35-47, the next year the cavs were 42-40. Without lebron the cavs would still be a 20 win team. Thats why LBJ is the most VALUABLE player.

This poll is retarded, the only two in the running got 6% a piece haha. Dirk and Nash are the only true mvp’s this year. Those who say kobe are crazy, put Nash or dirk on that team and they would win 50+ no sweat, kobe is a BALLL HOG!. I love Wade, but lets face it people Shaq is what makes them win. Now to the contennders; Dirk without a doubt a great player but doesnt really make all of his teammates better, 25pts + 3 ast = at most 35 ppg for a team. Nash 18pts + 12ast = at most 54ppg for a team. Think about that, his assists give ppl layups or wide open shots. Sure hell people, bill russell says nash 4mvp, are you gonna argue 11championships in 13 years, lol you can try.

The analysts preferred Nowitzki over Nash and I think they chose so since Dirk has the best record in the league. I think the analysts are not that into Nash’s A-game. Even though Dirk has a great stat the whole season, Nash has also a great one too and moreover, improved than the last two years. If Dirk would win MVP this year, for sure there would be fans who would be screaming and protesting against it. Poor Dirk, it should have been his moment but it isn’t. The trophy is handed out for all wrong reasons.:)

The MVP represents “The Most Valuable Player” period!

Dirk – a great player on the best team with the most wins. The Mavericks have proven that they can win with or without Dirk on the floor. Dirk has a problem with leadership and maturity when the game is on the line. It cost the Mavericks in last years finals. It also cost them this year when they played the Suns the last two times.

Steve – Makes his team better. Without Steve on the floor the Suns look like fish out of water. He has improved his stats from last year. He is a master passer and is the best thinking playmaker in the league. His defense has improved and he has taken more charges than anyone in the NBA. In my opinion Steve Nash is the MVP for the simple reason that his team only functions correctly when he is in the game.
