A new football league is coming in 2008 – the UFL (United Football League). Bill Hambrecht and Tim Armstrong (Google exec), are starting the project to compete with the NFL.
Mark Cuban (owner of the Dallas Maverics) has announced his intentions of owning one of the new teams. It should be interesting to see how this project works out.
Personally, I think the NFL provides plenty of football for us fans, but I am sure there are many who would disagree with me. What do you think, do we need another football league in the US?
The ideal alternative league plays on Tuesdays and Wednesdays DURING NFL season and locates itself in at least these cities:
Los Angeles, Portland, Las Vegas, San Jose, San Antonio, Mexico City, Orlando, Virgina Beach—and other large ADIs not served by the NFL.
I guess tuesday and wedensdays during the regular season might work. The XFL friday night thing didn’t work out too well, but at least we got to see the words “He Hate Me” on the back of someone’s jersey. I think it was a bit to eXtreme for most people. The UFL needs to be a little less extreme than the XFL, but does need to find a way to differentiate itself from the NFL.
We shall see what happens.
I hear rumors that some teams maybe public owned?
That would be pretty cool. Aren’t the Packers publicly owned?
Want to see UFL vs NFL planning to play football challenge in the future and change kind of Super Bowl call World Football Bowl Champion.
Yes I believe we should have another pro football league besides the AFL and AF2. The arena leagues are not reality football. So started another football league similar to the NFL will be nice and highly apprecaited.I played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2005-06 I am currently playing arena football for New York Dragons due to being release from the Ravens. I would love to participate in the UFL in 2008 because of my passion for football. That is why I play arena ball now..

XFL played during the Spring.
It would be nice to see another pro league in cities that is none NFL. If I were a wealthy businessman,I would invest heavily in it
